Knitting pattern for Gotta Have Fade Vest by Spektakelstrik
The vest is worked bottom up in the round. The vest is knit in brioche sections.
The sections are separated by 2 rows of stockinette stitch with 2 strands of mohair.
Size: XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL) XXXL
Measurements:
Chest circumference: 82 (89) 97 (103) 111 (118) 125 cm
Full length: 46 (46) 50 (50) 53 (53) 53 cm
The vest will expand a little as it is being used because it is worked in brioche, which is very elastic. If in doubt, choose one size smaller than usual.
Needles:
Circular needle size 3 mm (80 cm), circular needle size 6 mm (60 cm), circular needle size 7 mm (80 cm)
Gauge:
11 sts x 28 rows in brioche on needle size 7 = 10 x 10 cm.
Brioche expands quite much when it is washed. It is, therefore, important to wash the swatch before measuring. You may want to measure 20 cm to make sure you have the right gauge.
Materials:
For the main colour of the vest: Peruvian Highland Wool from Filcolana is used – 100 % wool (50 g / 100 m).
On top of the main colour, Tilia from Filcolana is used – 70 % mohair, 30 % silk (25 g / 210 m).
4 different colours of mohair are used and fade from one to another. The vest is knit in 2 strands of mohair of different colours, except from the bottom and the second from the top stripes, on which the 2 strands of mohair have the same colour.
